BISHOP MUSEUM VOLUNTEER WORKThe Bishop Museum is the lead natural and Hawaiian cultural history museum in Hawaii. It was founded all the way back in 1889 by Charles Reed Bishop to preserve the royal Hawaiian heirlooms of his deceased wife, Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop. Currently, the Bishop Museum is the biggest in the state, displays one of the largest collections of natural specimens worldwide, and still houses a wide array of Pacific cultural artifacts. The driving force behind the Bishop Museum is a desire to share with the community these natural and cultural wonders of the Pacific. They hope to inspire people through spirited discovery and recognition of the past.
