HAKALAU FOREST NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE VOLUNTEER WORKHakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge is a federal wildlife preserve established for the protection and management of Hawaiian forest bird species and their habitats. The Refuge has played a critical role in preventing the extinction of Hawaiian bird species, in addition helping with general wildlife protection and mass reforestation of native high-elevation cloud forest ecosystems. The Hakalau Forest National Wildlife Refuge is administered by the Fish and Wildlife Service, of the U.S. Department of the Interior. With your help, these endangered native species have a chance at survival.
