HAWAIIAN MISSION HOUSES VOLUNTEER WORKHawaii Missions Houses (HMH) is a nonprofit organization that seeks to preserve and educate Hawaii’s people about 19th century Hawaii, with a focus on protestant missionaries and their impact on the state. Located on O’ahu, the Hawaii Mission Houses site includes the two oldest houses in Hawai’i, and extensive research archives. Hawai’i Mission Houses is especially committed to educating Hawai’i’s youth about the unique history of Hawai’i, and invites both elementary and high school-age students on fun, interactive tours of the houses. Through educational and other efforts such as these, HMH hopes to cultivate the relationship between Hawaii’s missionary past and its citizens today, building a lasting understanding of the complex history and heritage of the islands.
Volunteer and donation opportunities to Hawaii Mission Houses are both available. Your contribution, whatever it may be, will help continue HMH’s preservation and spreading of valuable education across Hawai’i. Thank you! |
